Tom Plumptre ‘The Library’

This film is the final piece of a three parts series that I created to explore the storage and experience of certain emotions. I created a semi-fictional character who used a physical machine, that recorded heart rate in a similar way to a polygraph does. Heart rate is directly affected by every emotion. This thus created a physical form of emotion that could be held and stored.

I was born in Canterbury, South East England in 1991. I went to university at Oxford Brookes, where I studied Fine Art. My practice predominantly consists of filming and photographing decisive moments in real life. I use my camera to conduct studies of architecture, people and particular happenings. I aim to observe how certain spaces and certain individuals affect people within it.
