Synopsis: Absurdist Walk through Shadowscape.
For this movie a new technique has been created that encompasses both animation and performance. Interpreting the absurdist story 'Father and Daughter' by Daniil Kharms, the narrator takes us on a journey through a shadowscape.
About the director.
Josie De Rycke lives and works in the city of Ghent, Belgium. She obtained a degree in Animation Film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the KASK, located in Ghent. She fulfilled part of her studies at the MOME, Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design in Budapest, a place where she likes to return frequently.
Josie participated in various film festivals all over the world. Some of the movies she made are ‘Dear Belgium’, a movie addressing current Belgian issues, directed in Budapest together with Aline Quertain, and ‘Be happy’, a music video for the one man band Little Luke, which she made together with Emmy Storm. As Josie is interested in absurd literature, language and semiology -among many other things- these are subjects she often uses in her short films.
